Up until today I had no idea that Queen Mary wrote fairytales for children. I searched to find them in Romanian and indeed there is an edition published at Curtea Veche Publishing House which I’m going to purchase when I get the money.
In the meantime the English readers are a bit more fortunately. I found the book online available for reading. All you have to do is click on the picture above.
Queen Mary, being an englishwoman born and raised in UK, wrote the stories originally in English, them being translated into French in Romanian later on. These tales have been pretty much ignored and forgotten in Romania because of the Communist regime and the author.
Enjoy!
